Starter

Saoto Soup Elixir

Note: Preheat your oven to 175°C for the ‘Roti Royal Fusion’. If you have a microwave, we recommend using it instead (caution: do not use aluminium foil in the microwave).

  1. Gather the following ingredients:
    • Large soup cup: chicken broth
    • Medium “: bean sprouts
    • Medium “: shredded chicken + boiled egg
    • Small “: fried potatoes, onions and vermicelli mix
    • Small ‘toppings’ cup: spring onions
    • Small bottle of ketjap (soy sauce)
  2. Also, gather a small pot.
  3. If you prefer, place the bean sprouts on the cutting board, trim off the ends, and cut them to your desired length.
  4. Add the chicken broth to the small pot and warm it up over medium heat, stirring occasionally to ensure even warming. This typically takes 5-7 minutes.
Note: Keep the soup simmering to a light boil; do not let it start boiling vigorously.
  5. Add toppings (bean sprouts, chicken, boiled egg, and mix) to a soup bowl with your preferred amount.
Note: Divide the toppings between two bowls or start with half and add more if needed.
  6. Pour the warm broth into the bowl.
  7. Add the ketjap to the soup, according to your preference.
Note: Before adding the ketjap to the bowl, take a spoonful of soup and add a couple of drops of ketjap to it. Taste the soup to gauge the flavour intensity, and adjust the amount of ketjap in the bowl accordingly to suit your taste.
  8. Finally, add spring onions to garnish.
  9. Grab a spoon and enjoy!
